Specifications for resistance welding controls need to govern the energy
timed and delivered through the transformer. The focus of this is basically the
ability of the SCRs and IGBTs to handle the thermal load and the components of
the timer to accurately provide this information. The additional requirement on
feedback control of the resistance welding current measurment must be relaxed
due to the ability to compensate for the measured vaule compared to a NIST standard.
